The chants started in the Brabourne Stadium as soon as Tendulkar started the innings with his team chasing Kolkata Knight Riders' modest 155. With his usual fluency, Tendulkar notched up a memorable 48-ball 71, and it's becoming clear that it's extra special each time Tendulkar comes out to bat these days.

On a slow wicket that made batting a little difficult, especially in the second half of the innings, Tendulkar went after the bowling as soon as play started and then slowed down to suit the nature of the wicket, knowing that the chase was in control.

It was his show all the way even as youngsters Saurabh Tiwary, Shikhar Dhawan and R Sathish contributed to the cause. The skipper was certainly the guiding light in what turned out to be an easy win.

There was a blip in Tendulkar's innings no doubt - the sitter that was dropped by Murli Kartik off his own bowling - that gave the batsman a life. However, it seems these are days when hardly anything can go wrong with the Master, who will turn 38 next month.

Earlier, riding on Chris Gayle's half century, KKR managed a decent total, especially given the nature of the wicket. They could've been restricted further by 20 runs if not for a poor fielding effort on part of MI. Wicketkeeper Aditya Tare, in particular, had a lousy day in the field.
